About Phoenix Health Research Institute
Advancing community-centered research that informs policy, strengthens health systems, and improves measurable public health outcomes.
Our Mission & Vision
Phoenix Health Research Institute (PHRI) is a nonprofit public health organization recognized as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and classified as a public charity under §170(b)(1)(A)(vi). We are dedicated to advancing interdisciplinary, community-centered scholarship that informs policy and strengthens health systems.

PHRI was founded to bridge the gap between academic research and real-world application. Too often, important research remains confined to academic journals, disconnected from the communities it is meant to serve. PHRI exists to change that dynamic.

Our work integrates rigorous methodology with practical application, ensuring that research findings translate into policy development, education initiatives, and measurable improvements in community health outcomes.

Our vision is to become a leading nonprofit research institute that transforms public health systems through innovation, equity-driven scholarship, and community partnership — ensuring that evidence not only informs change, but drives measurable and lasting impact.
Our Work Focuses On
  • Public Health Research
Rigorous research initiatives designed to address emerging health challenges and improve population outcomes.
  • Mental Health Literacy
Evidence-based studies focused on stigma reduction, community education, and early intervention strategies.
  • Health Systems Policy
Research designed to inform policy decisions and strengthen healthcare systems through data-driven insights.
Executive Leadership
PHRI is led by an interdisciplinary executive team with expertise spanning public health, behavioral health, finance, governance, community engagement, and organizational leadership.

This leadership structure supports the institute’s commitment to methodological rigor, fiscal accountability, and long-term institutional growth.
